Known Superhuman Powers: Zeal possesses the superhuman power to entertain. When fully energized she has a mushroom cloud of zeal surrounding her and attempts to involve those around her in it. The precise technology involved in this is a mystery

Abilities: Zeal, an innovative strategist, is engrained in the inner-workings of camp logistics and deadlines, but is also the pivotal influence that brings the fun and adventure of Alpengirl to life! Excelling as a wilderness leader and mentor - Zeal sets an exceptional bar for all Alpenguides - and holds firm to qualifications and credentials that make Alpengirl outstanding! A life-coach to all: Zeal gently enforces examination of Self and succeeds through a profound application of coercive grins, spontaneous and exhilarating silliness - and a solid base of influence to unveil hidden potential in Alpengirls and Alpenguides alike. Her sphere of inspiration is wide reaching - an exponential wave that CAN change the world - one girl at a time.

History: The determined little girl that would become the inspiration and fun that IS Alpengirl is present in the heart of its life force. Zeal was born and raised in the Midwest (Iowa). Her propensity for the Rocky Mountain Region was realized at an early age through family ski trips and listening to John Denver tapes. She embraced the idea of living out her dreams in the mountains by choosing Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado, graduating with a biology degree in 1992. For the next several years, Zeal would find herself in pursuit of a platform for all of her education, work experience, life experience, and passion for the mountains. Alpengirl, Inc. (est. 1997) is a grand culmination of her experience as a Colorado teen camp leader, MountainFit Guide, USFS employee, volleyball coach, backpacking guide, BreaksAway Trip Leader, MSU Outdoor Leadership Instructor, Girl Scout Assistant Camp Director and troop leader, Youth Home employee, Big Sis with Big Brothers & Big Sisters, Bikram Yoga student and Red Cross certified Life Guard. Zeal has been a volunteer for the American Camp Association (ACA-Evergreen) board and is a member of the secret Alpengirl "A" team. Zeal has been creating Alpengirl trips and leading girls in outdoor pursuits for the past 17 years. Just about anytime, you can catch Zeal blogging or Facebooking about Alpengirl to our girl summer adventure camp fans around the world.

Current Base & Operations: Bozeman, Montana. In her winter free time, Zeal can be found skiing at Bridger Bowl with Jenanigans and Shox, working on home remodeling projects with Joe, cross-country skiing with her dogs Bynx and Koda, testing new Alpengirl camp recipes, visiting with secret Alpengirl "A" team members in far away places, enjoying yoga and soaking in hot springs.

Known Superhuman Powers:  Jenanigans is a super-human trickster. Don’t be fooled by what appears to be a calm and cool woman, she’s got a story, practical joke or curious natural object in her magic *satchel of shenanigans that she’s just waiting to share with you - surprise it’s Jenanigans!

*The Satchel of Shenanigans is a bag of curiosities that may include stories, jokes, mischief, songs, silliness and pranks. Items magically appear in the satchel of shenanigans as people around the possessor of the bag provide clues as to what they may need the most. How Jenanigans came into possession of the satchel of shenanigans is unknown at this time and is likely to remain a mystery.

Abilities: Jenanigans is naturally curious with an engaging personality and has the extraordinary ability to find adventure in any experience. These attributes, along with the satchel of shenanigans have proven to be a winning combination for Jenanigans and for those individuals and groups that are lucky to be in her vicinity to receive her gifts. Some of the gifts she has been known to provide to others are: a continuous smile no matter what the circumstance, hot drinks that seem to appear out of nowhere on a cold day, and a campfire complete with a guitar and a song.

History: In her youth, Jenanigans was fully engaged in the practice of enjoying nature, she was often found outside turning over rocks and pebbles in the streams of Western North Carolina in search of exotic creatures such as salamanders and crawdads. She found daily happiness exploring the Appalachian mountains from sun up to sun down. When not exploring the mountains, Jenanigans could be found feeding the ocean waves with sand from her hands and turning over what ever she could find on the ocean floor on the coast of North Carolina. As a young adult and well on into adulthood Jenanigans curious nature led her farther and farther away from her homeland to distant locations such as Africa where she learned to carefully turn over rocks because the exotic creatures were much bigger over there, and to Europe where she discovered her love for history, historical artifacts and architecture, and to South America & Antarctica where she fully engaged her abilities in adventure travel. Jenanigans was eventually led by her curiosity to the Western US where she earned her BA degree in History from the University of Colorado at Boulder. While out west she worked as an outdoor instructor for the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS). Then, an extraordinary thing happened to Jenanigans, she fell in love with Montana where she has worked as an operations manager at Adventure Life Journeys, as a lead wilderness guide for Girls Using Their Strengths (GUTS), as a snowboard instructor at Big Sky Resort and as recreation leader for the City of Bozeman Recreation Department. Jenanigans is a certified NOLS Instructor, Leave No Trace Master & Wilderness First Responder.

Current Base & Operations: Bozeman, Montana. Jenanigans is currently a Mental Health Counselor. In her free time she can be found snowboarding, trail running, practicing yoga, trying new recipes, climbing rocks, or enjoying outdoor adventures with her dog Emma and her husband Mike.

She’s a Fireproof, Aquatic, Upright, Mole! Following in the wake of her namesake, The FAUM possesses the power of adaptation. Known Superhuman Powers: Pow! has superhuman power sensing abilities that allow her to effortlessly recognize and unearth the power of potential within herself and others. Pow! gathers these refreshed sources of inner strength and uses them to motivate the group which is then collectively able to burst through physical and mental barriers allowing new levels of endurance and inspiration to be realized.

Abilities: Pow! has the ability to inspire confidence in oneself and the group. She believes strongly that, “your vibe attracts your tribe”, and as a result of that belief is very attentive to the groups energy. Pow! strives to create a strong sense of tribe and unity amongst the group, and wants each person to feel a valued for who they are and who they can become. She finds fun and amusement in the smallest of pleasures and is always there to remind others to take the time to the same. When adventuring with Pow! you can be sure that you will be living each moment to its fullest.

History:  Born and raised near the ocean, Pow! has always had an appreciation for the power of nature. After spending her adolescent life playing on the beaches of New Jersey she headed north to discover the beauty of the Green Mountains where Pow! earned a BA in Environmental Studies and English, with a concentration in sustainability education from the University of Vermont. Pow! began her relationship with outdoor education while studying abroad in San Ignacio, Belize. In Belize she and two fellow students designed and implemented a hands-on ecology curriculum for a class of students ranging in age. The team of three took turns planning the lessons for each day and by mid-semester Pow! realized that each of her activities involved the students going outside the classroom. At that point she knew she had found her passion. From that moment on she focused her studies and thesis project in an outdoor education specific direction. For her senior thesis project she chose to work for Dirt Divas, a girls empowerment mountain biking program, where she had the opportunity to design and test a supplemental environmental curriculum. She spent the spring and summer coaching young girls in mountain biking, and testing out her lesson plans. She had an amazing summer, and knew that her path would never be the same. After college graduation Pow! headed west to start work for a teen summer adventure camp on the California coast. After a season in California, she dipped out to visit the Big Island of Hawai’i and worked for a few months on a local farm. She then returned to the mainland and continued her work with the teen camp as a trip leader for a 2 month international service trip in Thailand. For the past two years Pow! has been following the seasons, striving to hike, climb, and bike in the summer sun and chasing POWder runs and bluebirds days for the winters. Pow! has been a summer teen camp trip leader, a naturalist instructor at Naturalists at Large, a private tutor for students with learning disabilities, an environmental educator at a Vermont middle school, and a group leader for Habitat for Humanity. Pow! is fluent in French, is trained to teach self-defense and has Wilderness First Responder and CPR certifications.

Current Base & Operations: Isola, France. Currently, Pow! is working at an alpine restaurant and snowboarding at a small mountain in the southern alps of France. As a side project, Pow! enjoys assisting her friend in launching a line of reused/repurposed women’s active wear. And, as always, Pow! is in brainstorm mode for her next adventure and busy making her biggest dreams in life come true.

Bird received a degree in Outdoor Recreation and a minor in Spanish from Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington. During her college years she fell in love with big mountains, snowboarding, rock climbing, surfing, lake swimming, and the ocean. She has worked seasonal jobs such as being a conservation crew member, teaching snowboarding to kids and as a ski and snowboard technician in the winter. This summer at Alpengirl, Bird is looking forward to creating an open and welcoming environment for girls to ask questions, share ideas, try new things, learn from others, and have fun! Bird is CPR and WFR certified.

Current Base & Operations: Bozeman, Montana. She's skiing, working at a ski shop and in the local service industry this winter before her summer guiding season with Alpengirl.

Known Superhuman Powers: Elastigirl’s super powers are elasticity and humor. This funny girl can stretch so far that her feet can touch her head! Her superpowers started the day she started dancing ballet as a little girl and her elasticity and good sense of humor have been growing ever since. She can make all sorts of weird and funny poses and turn a frown upside down in just 1 second. Without a doubt if you are having a hard time she can be really easy to talk to and make you smile.

Abilities: Elastigirl has many wonderful abilities. She loves completing amazing challenges and journeys, especially when they are really hard. What she loves about finishing hard activities is the feeling you get of success and pride. She can turn a rainy day into a sunny-fun day, this girl can help you get through many tuff moments and make everyone feel at home.

History: Elastigirl was born and raised in Puerto Rico. She grew up on a farm in the high tropical mountains in a beautiful old house, just a short trip from the beach. One of her favorite things to do when she was little was camping and enjoying nature with her father; camping on Culebra Island or sleeping out at the farm. Elastigirl was a dedicated ballet dancer for 10 years and also loved everything to do with animals and the outdoors. Elastigirl’s first serious adventure was going to Alpengirl Camp when she was just 11 years old. This was really different for her because she had never been so far away from home and with girls she didn't even know. But once she got there, she made amazing friends and learned incredible skills. From then on she knew she wanted to return every summer and maybe one day even become an Alpenguide! Elastigirl has participated in Alpengirl every summer since her 1st (with only 1 summer exception) as either a returning camper or an intern and has done all the adventures available (and some twice!) Today she is living her dream as an Assistant Alpenguide and is following in the footsteps of some great role models - the Alpenguides before her. Elastigirl is fluent in Spanish and is Wilderness First Responder, CPR & Lifeguard certified.

Current Base & Operations: Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. Elastigirl has a passion for Marine Biology and is attending college at La Universidad de Puerto Rico. She plans on leading trips for Alpengirl in the summers and traveling the world discovering more adventures as often as possible.

By constantly buzzing around in her group sharing fun facts, games and knowledge she agitates young minds thus allowing them to open up and absorb the awesomeness surrounding them - bee it their group, their world or their universe.

Abilities: Buzzing around all day is tiring, it take loads of energy to vibrate at such a high frequency, but, Buzz is always up for the challenge! She learned to love the mountains in the beautiful Sierras and spent her summers and winters playing in the forest.
