Known Superhero Powers: Gabatron is an expert transformer who possesses a variety of forms which she can shift between: from Gabby the earthly sparkly leader of giggly dance parties to Gabatron 7000 who ensures all Alpenguides are equipped to safely lead trips. Gabatron can unlock different abilities based on the nature of any opportunity or obstacle that may lay ahead. Transforming from community leader to wilderness permit manager to adventuress to logistics superhero, Gabatron is the shapeshifter for all of Alpengirl’s needs.

History: Gabatron hails from many a day and overnight camp in the Carolinas. A savvy entrepreneurial superhero from the start, her first venture at the age of 7 was to start a summer camp called Activity World, featured in the Charlotte Observer. While studying business at the University of South Carolina she held leadership positions with the Mountaineering Whitewater Club and directed middle and high school youth organizations. In the summers she worked as a camp counselor at overnight summer camps and guided 3-5-week long expeditions for teenagers.

After college she moved to Jackson Hole, Wyoming in search of rapids, ski slopes slopes, costume parties, and likeminded rad people. Over the years in Jackson she worked in management roles at various outdoor adventure resorts and outfitters with the goal of getting people outside! Donning the entrepreneur cape again, she launched her own young adult volunteer expedition non-profit and guided trips across continents in search of adventure and meaning. After going on tour across the country as a violinist with her band Elk Attack (check us out on Spotify!), Gabatron realized that she wanted to deepen her leadership skills and pursued an MBA. After graduating from Stanford Graduate School of Business she leveraged her experience in travel and hospitality to help blue chip public companies work with startups as a leader in venture capital and innovation strategy. As riveting and challenging as this work was, Gabatron felt the urge to get back to what matters to her most… helping people find meaning in their lives through community-driven outdoor experiences. She’s now the proud Camp Director of Alpengirl, working to provide safe, transformational leadership expeditions for our outstanding Alpengirls and Alpenguides.

Current Base & Operations: Bozeman, Montana. Gabatron can be found skiing, paddling, doing improv comedy, strumming a guitar or ukulele around a campfire, or donning a fun costume at a concert under the Big Sky. She lives with her tent-designing-nerd husband and one-year-old son with whom she loves to dance and accompany on outdoor adventures.
