Known Superhuman Powers: Instead of pressing wildflowers to make them last forever, Flowerchild is here to help you make memories that last forever! Her knack for finding the best little moments is matched only by her ability to share them with everyone - she has the power of storytelling, and can take any snippet in time and turn it into a tale to share, commemorating her many quests and wild adventures. Any adventure with Flowerchild is sure to be one for the books!

Abilities: True to her name, Flowerchild is happiest under a wide-open sky, not surrounded by four walls. As a perpetual optimist, it is rare to find her without a smile on her face: whether the day brings rain, snow or sunshine Flowerchild will always lean toward the bright side. And like an alpine bloom, she thrives with mountaintop views, and loves to help others reach them as well. Her favorite places cannot be reached by motorized vehicles, and her preferred modes of transportation are bicycle (mountain, road and gravel) and skis (nordic and alpine). If the trails are not suited for gear, she will simply hike or run to the final destination! There’s no stopping Flowerchild - willpower and determination have carried her up and over many an obstacle, and because she knows there’s always more than one way to reach a goal, little can stop her from attaining hers.  She believes that, like all good things, talents and gifts should not be kept hidden, and she excels at helping others develop their confidence to shine, too!

History: Flowerchild was raised in a tiny dot on the map in southern Illinois not far from the Shawnee National Forest. It was there that she first fell in love with the great outdoors, during summers spent running through the woods or swimming in lakes with her cousins and friends.

After high school she went to Culinary School (get ready for adventures in the backcountry kitchen with Wildflower!), and upon graduation flew to Hawaii to work as a chef for Norwegian Cruise lines. Her work took her from the Pacific to Colorado, where she truly experienced the unparalleled joys of living in the mountains.

A few years in the Rockies gave her a taste of backcountry exploration, and feeling the need for a break, she hung up her chef's hat and became a guide for a bicycle tour company in Skagway Alaska, where she fell head over heels in love with the untouched wilderness and raw beauty of The Last Frontier. One summer was all it took to make a change in her career path, and she moved out of the kitchen towards a life immersed in Mother Nature's many wonders. Since then, she’s spent time in Alaska when the nights are shorter, and in the lower 48 during the winter months, where she’s a PSIA Ski Instructor. The seasonal life suits her well, and she had been enjoying every moment of it. Flowerchild is Wilderness First Aid, CPR, and Lifeguard certified.

Current Base & Operations: Flowerchild is spending the winter as the Ski School Director of a ski resort in Minnesota, nestled along the striking North Shore of Lake Superior. She is excited for the Alpengirl Adventure this summer, and looks forward to new places and new faces alike!
