Our Philosophy

Alpengirl endeavors to influence the world just one girl at a time.

To open her eyes, exercise her inquisitive mind, and develop her physical strength.

Alpengirl's unparalleled programs foster growth through a philosophy of mind-body connection that promotes "Fitness Through Adventure".

Each camper is encouraged to confidently embrace challenge and to comfortably excel at being herself.

Alpengirl imparts these ideals through the trials and excitement of adventure activities and with the emotional nourishment of the natural environment.

Our staff is small and our job is personal, allowing real relationships to blossom. Alpengirl's philosophies are reinforced by these relationships and are evident in the spirit of each girls who leaves us - having become that better version of herself.

It's a matter of days... 7 to 14 days. These days are spent with Alpengirl. Days that will encourage, challenge, refresh and excite.

Our Program

Alpengirl is definitively unique in bridging the gap between close to home facility-based youth camps such as Girl Scout Camp and challenge-based wilderness expeditions such as NOLS or Outward Bound.

Alpengirl appeals to girls and parents who are seeking a bit more adventure than what they may have already experienced at their local residential summer camp, yet not as challenging nor intimidating as a wilderness expedition.

Alpengirl offers family-style atmosphere with individual care, a personalized adventure.

Adventure is our main objective and fitness is an integral part of our adventures.

Our program goal is to realize the positive lifetime effects of good eating, exercise, wilderness, and friendship.

Morning yoga, lots of really good wholesome food, daily adventure sports, 9:15 p.m. group entertainment, Leave No Trace wilderness living, outdoor education, and leadership development are methods of meeting our program goal.

We operate in a way that is comfortable for teen girls. Our focus is on ENJOYMENT of each activity in order to promote a lifetime of adventure in each camper.

Activities are introduced at a beginner level with capacity for additional challenges and increased fitness.

Self-reliance, initiative, group cohesion, and positivism are daily objectives.

Self-esteem and leadership development are the two most common outcomes noticed by campers and parents after having attended Alpengirl.

Alpengirl promotes tolerance and acceptance of all people, regardless of differences and our staff are trained to set the highest example of behaviors for campers. We are inclusive and respect the rights and dignity of all campers and staff.

Alpengirl is not a "troubled teen camp" nor "teen boot camp".
