Montana Wild Explorer Canoe trip climbing near yellowstone river at teen adventure camp

Our wonderful Montana Wild Explorer crew has been having a blast post-canoe trip adventuring in Southern Montana! The girls attended a horseback riding adventure near Livingston and saw sheep, dogs, cows, and many wildflowers while riding their horses. Kati, Natalie, Alli, and Denise were all very excited about the ride and loved getting to know each of their horses. After horseback riding, we didn’t let the rain and storms dull our day! We had a delicious grilled cheese and soup dinner at a lovely park and kept warm.

The following day was spent exploring Bozeman, checking out the local shops and life on East Main Street. We even popped by the Alpengirl headquarters for a snack and a dance party! After adventuring through Bozeman and appreciating the local crafts and artwork, we took a long soak at Chico Hot Springs and enjoyed the soothing mineral water. Post-hot springs brought another warm dinner and a campfire - with s’mores! The girls competed in a golden-brown marshmallow Alpenolympic, Alli came in first place with her top-notch roasting skills!

This morning we headed out for some rock climbing near the Yellowstone River, all the campers were thrilled to challenge themselves with a new skill. The girls have all been absolute troopers with the rain and stormy weather, and have made the best out of every challenge that has approached them. While the remainder of the trip is wrapping up it has been amazing to watch this group cultivate a strong bond of friendship, support, kindness, respect for one another, and a newfound love for the outdoors! We will spend our last night reflecting on our time together and enjoying some well deserved pizza and treats during our awards ceremony!
