Our Yellowstone Horse IIB settled back into front country life with showers, laundry, and a delicious warm meal!
That evening, we experienced our first Montana rainstorm! Thankfully, we had the perfect place to wait it out on the porch at our gracious camp host’s property, watching the rain roll through before heading to bed. By morning, the storm had passed, leaving us with bright blue skies and sunshine. We celebrated with a pancake breakfast cooked at camp before spending time with some of our newest four-legged friends—the campground dogs and cat! To make the morning even more special, we got to sing Mel, our incredible camp host, a very happy birthday before hitting the road.
Our first stop was Yellowstone National Park! We explored one of America’s most iconic parks and watched Old Faithful live up to its name with an incredible eruption. After a day of sightseeing, we wrapped up the evening with a sunset swim in Yellowstone Lake, a refreshing way to end an unforgettable day!
The adventure continued as we traveled north, officially checking our second national park off the list with a scenic drive through Glacier National Park. The mountain views never get old, and every turn seemed to reveal another incredible landscape.
Next came one of everyone’s favorite days: whitewater rafting in Jackson! Our crew tackled exciting rapids, and every single camper bravely took on “riding the bull”—sitting on the very front of the raft as we charged through the waves. A few adventurous campers even jumped in to swim one of the calmer rapids, making for plenty of laughs and unforgettable memories.
