A First Step Into Alpengirl
Who are Alpengirl’s Discovery Adventures meant for?
Discovery Adventures are designed for rising 6th–7th graders ready to try something new, learn outdoor skills, and experience the fun of summer adventure! These 8-day trips offer a welcoming introduction to Alpengirl, with opportunities to explore new places, make friends, and try things they may have never done before.
With guidance from our experienced Alpenguides, campers learn outdoor skills, build confidence, and take on new challenges at their own pace. From trying new activities to sharing laughs around camp, Discovery is all about learning, growing, and having fun outside.
Fun Fact! For most Discovery campers, this is their first summer at Alpengirl! Everyone gets to learn the ropes, try new things, and figure it all out together.

Behind the Trips
Alpengirl has spent decades helping girls build confidence, curiosity, and joy through outdoor adventure.
Discovery Adventures were created for rising 6th–7th graders who are ready to try something new, learn wilderness skills, and experience a summer at Alpengirl. With supportive female guides and a group of girls learning right alongside them, campers have the chance to step outside their comfort zones, make new friends, and discover what they’re capable of.
These trips are about more than learning to hike, paddle, or camp outdoors. They’re about trying new things, figuring things out together, and realizing that you can do more than you thought. For many campers, Discovery is the beginning of their Alpengirl journey, with new skills, friendships, and a little more confidence to carry into whatever comes next.
