Originally a military child, Claire learned to adapt quickly to new environments from a young age. Her family eventually settled in Eagle, Colorado – her favorite place in the world – where they built a vibrant home with fruit trees, countless veggies, horses, chickens, and approximately one squillion bees.
Claire attended Centre College in Danville, Kentucky, where she earned a degree in Biology. Her studies focused on climate dynamics and the impacts of coal mining pollution on snails’ freshwater ecosystems. She left Kentucky with a strong sense of community, a deep appreciation for the natural world, and 192 snail friends.
