Known Superhuman Powers
As Alpengirl’s Enrollment and Operations Coordinator, LydCo is all about connecting people, sparking joy, and making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. Whether chatting over trip logistics or cracking jokes on the trail, her superpower is bringing people together and reminding everyone that adventure is better when shared. She’s always ready to chat, brainstorm, and figure things out as a team, usually with a big smile and a snack in hand.
Abilities
Crafting gourmet meals anywhere is LydCo’s superpower. Homemade pasta in the woods with fresh pesto? No problem. She’ll make it happen and always just in time for sunset. In LydCo’s book, every meal tastes better when eaten in picnic form.
Additionally to being an outdoor chef, she’s a master of games. She will always have a deck of cards on hand and is ready to learn a new game any time. Wherever you are, count on LydCo for good eats and a game to play.
History
LydCo grew up in Princeton, New Jersey, surrounded by good bagels and trips to the Jersey Shore. She spent most of her summers traveling with her parents and two older brothers around the U.S. and abroad. Her childhood was full of adventure, curiosity, and long car rides with plenty of laughter and 2000s hit songs. One year, she even lived in England, where she developed a legit northern English accent. It has since faded, but give her a long enough phone call and you might be lucky enough to hear it!
Growing up, LydCo played soccer and later added lacrosse and even ice hockey to the mix. On each of these sports teams, LydCo gained the ever-important title of “team hair-braider”. She may be willing to defrost those skills if you bribe her with a Reece’s Peanut Butter Cup. Between high school and college, LydCo took a gap year to adventure and learn. She spent time as a nanny, backpacked for 55 days through the Utah desert (no showers, lots of stories), and worked on a sustainable cacao farm in Costa Rica.
She later attended Elon University in North Carolina, double majoring in Strategic Communications and Outdoor Leadership & Education with an Environmental Science focus. Outside of her classes, she could most often be found facilitating groups on the challenge course, chatting with prospective students in the Office of Admissions, or planning her next outdoor trip. A highlight of her time at Elon was studying abroad in Patagonia, Chile!
To LydCo there are many ways to enjoy time outside whether that is exploring the world on foot, on bike, in kayak or on rollerblades (if she’s feeling bold).
Current Base and Operations
LydCo is settling into Bozeman, Montana. It’s her first time living out west, and she’s loving every minute. When she’s not coordinating camp magic behind the scenes, she’s likely admiring the mountains, taste-testing every coffee shop in town, or finding her next local trail to explore. She’s thrilled to bring her enthusiasm for people, adventure, and a good laugh to Alpengirl.
