“During my time at Alpengirl I have met so many amazing people and friends. One of my favorite parts of camp was receiving our horses on the first day of horse packing and seeing how happy everybody was.”

“I feel so much more free. Not worrying about having to be on time. As I sit here, watching the sunrise while Champ (my llama) munches on grass, I wonder why I don’t have moments like this at home.”
“In this time I have learned that just because something makes you nervous or uncertain, that does not mean it is bad. Trying new things strengthens your character and makes you believe in yourself more.”
“This camp has been one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. Not only was camp exciting and new, but it was also joyful, exhilarating… and made me laugh so hard. Every night I would go to bed with new fond memories and a sore jaw from smiling so much.”
“At Alpengirl I have found what I can only describe as the best, most kind, and most inclusive group of girls. I never worry about laughing at the wrong jokes because everyone else was laughing as well… By not trying to change myself in order to build friendships, I have found the best group of friends that I could have ever imagined.”
“When I am at Alpengirl, I forget I even have a phone. And even though I miss my phone, I think it is good for me. Alpengirl teaches me new skills like how to be independent, to get out of my comfort zone, and how to be a more outgoing, positive, and kind person.”
“When I first started this trip, I didn’t think that I would be able to backpack or even put on a pack… Now that I have completed that part of the trip, I know I can accomplish so much more if I just put my mind to it.”
“This is my 4th [year at] Alpengirl, through all the Alpengirl [adventures] I have been on, this one has taught me that I am so much more capable than I thought I was. Llama packing was one of the hardest things I have done. My feet and ankles were in pain… but I kept pushing myself because I knew that each step forward brought me closer to the destination… This trip has taught me how to be a kind, independent, strong, brave woman. How to push myself out of my comfort zone and just how to be a better human being.”
“Horse packing was my favorite part. Horse packing is also when I really sealed my friendships with everyone. Despite the rain and cold, I would do this camp 100 times again. Sun, rain or shine, this camp has my heart and I did not expect to miss it as much as I do.”
Lauren came home from her trip Montana Alpengirl trip a girl changed. She had nothing but great things to say about her trip. What we noticed right away was how Lauren looked. She had a glow about her that she had never had before. She also has a confidence about her that has made her more out going and sure of herself. I think the trip was one of the most important events of her life. She talked about her friends she had met and the relationships she has formed with them. She now thinks about what she eats and is exercising more and looking to be a healthy teen. I think this trip was the best thing to happen to her. I know it has given her a sense of “I can do anything now”. She now wants to try different things and has a more positive sense of herself. I can’t thank you enough for the great time she had and we certainly look forward to her going again. I would and have recommended your organization to anybody that has girls of Lauren age. You have given Lauren an experience of a life-time and memories that will last forever. Thank you so much. Best to you and your guides, have a great year.
