Rock Climbing

Rock climbing and rappelling are two challenging, yet thrilling activities offered at different Alpengirl adventures.

What are rock climbing and rappelling?

Rock climbing and rappelling are thrilling vertical adventures. In top-rope climbing, climbers are securely harnessed and attached to a rope anchored above the rock face, while a belayer keeps the rope taut for safety. Rappelling involves descending a rock wall or cliff using a harness and a device that lets you control your speed. These activities focus on technique, teamwork, and self-confidence, and are adaptable to all skill levels.

The day begins with safety talks, gear fitting, and learning rope-handling basics. Climbers take turns scaling outdoor rock walls with personalized coaching, belaying friends, and snacking during breaks. Multiple climbing routes are available to match different skill levels, and rappelling adds an exciting finale to the day. The focus is on fun, teamwork, and trying something new in a supportive environment.

No prior experience is needed. Whether you’re a first-time climber or have climbed challenging 5.12 routes, there’s a climb suited to your level. Alpenguides provide thorough instruction, and participants are encouraged to challenge themselves at their own pace.

No advance preparation is necessary. Come with comfortable, flexible clothing and a willingness to try new things. All necessary climbing gear, including helmets, harnesses, and climbing shoes, is provided. Mental preparation and a positive attitude will help you make the most of the experience.
